SKY VALLEY— The Sky Valley Police Department unveiled their newly renovated police department building at a community open house on Thursday, December 19. The project was completed by Sky Valley Police Officer Lt. David Edwards.

CLAYTON— The culvert at the intersection of the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia and Chechero Street has been an ongoing controversy between the Food Bank and the City of Clayton, and the plot thickened when it sprung a leak last week and contents poured into Stekoa Creek.

County receives positive news on annual audit

CLAYTON— Rabun County received a good bill of health for their audit presented by Clay Pilgrim from Ruston and Company at the Rabun County Board of Commissioners meeting on Thursday, December 19. Chairman Greg James was not present at the meeting. “Good audit this year,” Pilgrim said.

Familiar face is new Black Rock manager

Avid hikers and campers may find a familiar face the next time they visit Black Rock Mountain State Park in Clayton. That’s because Tallulah Gorge State Park’s assistant manager, Jessica James, has been promoted to manager of the park just a few miles north on Hwy. 441.

Post Office needs packages picked up

 ‘Tis the season for giving and that means that the post office is receiving a larger quantity of packages compared to other times of the year. “If you own a P.O. Box, it would be really appreciated for you to come pick up your packages,” said Postmaster Sherri Gabrels, in an interview Monday.
