Bus drivers prepare for opening day of school

TIGER— Rabun County Schools took a hands-on approach to student safety at a training day for bus drivers at the Rabun County Board of Education on Thursday, July 25.

DILLARD—After 90 years of serving customers in Rabun County, Georgia’s smallest hydroelectric generating plant has finally earned a rest.

Lampros, Gober reunite at Bicentennial Fun Run

CLAYTON — Anthony Lampros carried the torch. Guy Gober carried the flag. The two distance running specialists reunited for Rabun County’s Bicentennial Torch and Flag Fun Run on Saturday morning.

TFS adds new head coaches to athletic programs

New leadership is in place at Tallulah Falls School for varsity boys basketball, varsity girls soccer and middle school/varsity swim programs.  Varsity boys basketball:  Cody Coleman, upper school history teacher, will lead the TFS varsity boys basketball team.

Old represents Rabun in All-Star baseball game

Kasin Old represented Rabun County in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes’ Georgia-South Carolina Baseball Classic for high school seniors in June. Old, who graduated from Rabun County High School in May, competed in the second-annual event at Southern Wesleyan University in Central, S.C.

Rabun cheerleaders earn top cheer team honor

The Rabun County varsity cheerleaders were recognized as the best cheer team at a Universal Cheerleaders Association camp in Lander University in Greenwood, S.C., last week. Rabun had five cheerleaders be named All-Americans, earned after individual tryouts.
