Independence Day gave residents and visitors to Rabun County multiple opportunities to see fireworks -- be those at the lakes or in the municipalities. The Tiger Drive-In shot off its annual fireworks on Saturday, July 5, before a packed drive-in got to see the new “Jurassic World Rebirth” film.

Caudell wins summer Lake Living cover contest

Kim Caudell of Toccoa was named the winner of Community Newspapers Inc.’s contest for the cover of the summer edition of Lake Living. Caudell selected a photo she snapped in 2022 of her two children, Britt and Benjamin, dressed up for Independence Day to submit into the competition.
Submitted. Students from Rabun County FFA attended a Summer Leadership Camp (SLC) at the Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center in Covington, on the banks of Jackson Lake. Summer Leadership Camp is open to FFA and FCCLA students from all over the state of Georgia. There were 23 students who attended this summer.

COVINGTON, GA – This summer 23 students from Rabun County FFA attended a Summer Leadership Camp (SLC) at the Georgia FFA-FCCLA Center in Covington, on the banks of Jackson Lake. Summer Leadership Camp is open to FFA and FCCLA students from all over the state of Georgia.

AARN focuses on understanding dementia better at Summit

10th annual festival crafts a huge success

The North Georgia Arts Guild (NGAG) presented a stroke of success last weekend as crowds of people turned out to the 10th annual Painted Fern Art Festival. The free downtown Clayton festival was a two-day event Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13, inside the Rabun County Civic Center.

Tradition lives on at The Dillard House with July 4 celebration

It was a truly American event at The Dillard House on Independence Day last weekend as locals and visitors enjoyed another celebration at the historic landmark.

Art festival coming to Clayton this weekend

The 10th annual Painted Fern Art Festival returns to downtown Clayton this weekend on Saturday, July 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rabun County Civic Center, 201 W. Savannah Street, Clayton. Admission and parking for the event are free.
