Foxfire restores Bell Gristmill water wheel

Event-goers to Foxfire Heritage Days Friday, June 6, and Saturday, June 7, were in for a treat as the Bell Gristmill water wheel was up and running just in time for the two-day fundraiser festival. The mill was originally built in the late 1920s by C.B. Bell near Coweta, N.C.

Local Clayton club holds ‘Pharoahs Drive-In Movie Show 2025’

Pharoahs Car Club of Clayton, Ga., recently held its “Pharoahs Drive-In Movie Show 2025” at the Tiger Drive-In on Saturday, June 7. The dayincluded live music and a showing of the movie American Graffiti, which features the parent-organization Pharoahs Car Club.

Ramshackle’s headliner Town Mountain was unable to play on the main stage because of the June 7 rainstorm that got the area wet, but that did not keep the band from playing. “We were very thankful they played acoustic in front of Reeves Outdoor Center,” said Sonya Shook of Reeves and the CMBA president. “It was a cool experience for the fans that came and listened to them play.”

Second annual Ramshackle a success

Downtown Clayton was bustling with activity last weekend as visitors and locals alike flocked to town for the second annual Ramshackle Street Festival. The Saturday, June 7, event was produced by the City of Clayton and Clayton Merchants and Business Association (CMBA).

Arrest made in crossbow encounter

An arrest has been made in connection with an abrupt change to a tranquil Memorial Day morning when the driver of a pickup pointed a crossbow at a female walking her dog near one of the most popular waterfalls in the county.
