Rabun Republican Party now has new chairman

Meet the new chairman of the Rabun County Republican Party, Benita Cotton-Orr, who was elected at the biennial County Convention on Monday, March 17, along with the other county party officers.

Lake Living cover winner captures stunning porch views from Lake Rabun

The North Georgia Mountains offer many chances to capture picture-perfect views of wildlife and lakes. Spring 2025 “Lake Living” cover winner Morgan Harvill has the opportunity to capture beautiful views of nature and lake life from his own porch on Lake Rabun in Rabun County.

Hurt Jr. sworn-in as Rabun County Assistant Magistrate Judge

James W. Hurt, Jr. was recently appointed as Assistant Magistrate Judge for the Magistrate Court of Rabun County. He was sworn-in on Friday, April 11, by Rabun County Probate Judge Savannah Dixon at the Probate office. Hurt joins other Assistant Magistrate Judge C.

Creative artists turn out at Sassafras Artisan Market

The North Georgia Arts Guild presented the Sassafras Artisan Market April 26 and 27 and the event featured many creative artists, familiar exhibitors and some new exhibitors. Event-goers enjoyed original, hand-made works of art from more than 50 artists.

Some issues to go along with those breakfast eggs

Following a breakfast meal to begin the day, elected officials offered food for thought as they answered questions posed by the public. The Forward Rabun/Rabun County Chamber of Commerce hosted the Spring Business Breakfast on Thursday, April 17, at the Dillard House Conference Center.

Rhoad’s memory will move forward through youth

Exactly how Carter Rhoad died may never be fully known by his family, but a localized effort will keep his memory known for generations. Rhoad, son of Rabun County’s Hal and Page Rhoad, spent his life doing selfless works for countless others in the United States and internationally.
