Dinglerfest raises money for Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund

Last weekend’s Dinglerfest 2025 featured unique folk art all for a good cause as proceeds benefited the local nonprofit Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund. The Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, event was held at the pavilions in downtown Clayton. It featured folk art, live music and food.

It’s springtime in the North Georgia Mountains and the perfect time to visit downtown Clayton for the fifth annual Of These Mountains Spring Marketplace on Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rabun County pavilions, 201 W Savannah Street, Clayton.

Wolffork Road water line project complete

Paving has been completed along the portion of Wolffork Road that was impacted by the Wolffork Road Water Main Project to install about 16,000 linear feet of 8-inch ductile water line as part of improved operations for the North Loop Water System.

Kickoff your summer with the 2025 Ramshackle Street Festival

The 2025 Ramshackle Street Festival is less than a month from its triumphic return to downtown Clayton on Saturday, June 7. The second annual free event is produced by the City of Clayton and Clayton Merchants and Business Association (CMBA).

Third Grader Lucy Arnett was announced as the Young Georgia Authors Pioneer RESA District winner for writing titled “The Life of a Pencil.” Arnett will go on to compete at the state level. She was recognized at the April 28 Rabun County Board of Education meeting where board members, school administrators and fellow students clapped and congratulated her on her recognition.

Excitement for creative writing can be fostered in youth beginning at a young age and develop overtime. Encouraging students to celebrate their writing is a very important concept.

TFS entertains with annual middle school ‘Madrigal’

The 2025 Tallulah Falls School Middle School “Madrigal” provided entertainment reminiscent of a royal court, featuring singing, sword fighting, jousting, dancing, feasting, joking, scheming, capturing scoundrels, playing tricks, and much more.

Clayton Lions Club proudly presents Upper 5% Scholars

The Clayton Lions Club would like to congratulate the 2024-2025 Upper 5 percent recipients of Rabun County High School. The Lions Club sponsored a banquet on Thursday, April 17, for the students who maintained the highest academic averages in their grade level. At the banquet, Rev.

Holden is a fine artist working in mixed media, oils, watercolor, intaglio and monoprint printmaking, ceramics, sculpture and drawing.

The Hambidge Center holds Open House

The Hambidge Center is a place for creative arts and a sanctuary for people to work on those creative arts in a peaceful environment. Crowds of people attended the Open House on Saturday, April 26.
