Branch honored for leading Georgia Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee

MACON, Ga. – Rabun County Farm Bureau (RCFB) member Stephanie Harden Branch was recognized during the 87th Annual Georgia Farm Bureau (GFB) Convention held Dec. 8-10 on Jekyll Island for chairing the GFB Women’s Leadership Committee the past year.

New Orleans Sugar Bowl postponed amid terrorist attack on Bourbon Street; rescheduled for Jan. 2

NEW ORLEANS — Pregame jubilation and anticipation was abruptly displaced with horror and safety concerns in New Orleans prior to the 91st Allstate Sugar Bowl as a pickup smashed through a city street filled with New Year's partiers, killing 15 and injuring others.

Mountain City, Tiger approve 2025 budgets

Council members from the City of Mountain City and Town of Tiger recently approved their FY 2025 budgets. Both cities have a Fiscal Year of January-December. City of Mountain City The City of Mountain City approved the 2025 budget in the amount of $336,209 at the Dec. 10 council meeting.

This past week, Santa Claus delighted the Mountain Lakes Medical Center community with a spectacular visit. Making quite the entrance, Santa arrived in a flash of excitement, his helicopter adorned with festive red and green Christmas lights.
