Dillard 'lights up' to celebrate the holidays

The City of Dillard lit up with excitement on Saturday, Dec. 7, with its Tree Lighting and community event. Dillard City Hall was full of festive decorations and holiday cheer.

Successful second annual Rabun FFA ‘Santa on the Farm’

‘Tis the season to make ornaments for the Christmas tree, decorate delicious cookies and enjoy hot chocolate during the chilly winter months.

Record numbers, participation at Clayton parade

The Christmas season has arrived and the City of Clayton and Forward Rabun/Rabun County Chamber of Commerce presented this year’s Christmas parade to help Rabun County get into the Christmas spirit on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Christmas Village shines light on stopping local domestic violence

Fantastic turnout celebrates Appalachia’s ‘A Foxfire Christmas’

Crowds of people discovered foxfire in the spirit of an old-time Christmas at the successful “A Foxfire Christmas” event Saturday, Dec. 7. Families both local and visiting the area enjoyed a fun-filled day stepping back in time to see what a true Appalachian Christmas is all about.

‘These are stories I was meant to tell’

“I tell the stories that need to be told,” local and renowned artist Kathy Andrews Fincher said of her purpose in creating beautiful paintings and sculptures for decades. Those stories captured from her life’s works are on display at The Hudgens Center for Art & Learning in Duluth, Ga.

Place of Hope North Georgia celebrates five years

Hope, healing and community have a home at Place of Hope North Georgia. The faith-based nonprofit organization celebrated five years as a state organization on Dec. 3 and continues its mission of serving children and families in the foster care system in our area.
