Cause of Dillard Marathon fire undetermined

The cause of a commercial structure fire at the Marathon station in Dillard Dec. 7 is currently undetermined and under investigation by the state fire marshal as of press time Wednesday. On Saturday, Dec. 7, at 12:14 p.m.

Decorated trees provide educational roots

The annual 2024 Festival of Trees and Holiday Market was a huge success as crowds of people enjoyed shopping and bidding on trees to support this year’s nonprofit recipient, the Creative Learning Center (CLC).

Clayton council to meet earlier Dec. 17

Starting in January 2025, Clayton City Council meetings will be held the second Tuesday of each month with work sessions to begin at 4 p.m. and regular meetings at 5 p.m. Council members voted on the change at the Nov. 19 council meeting. The start time for the upcoming Dec.

Rabun County Schools ‘Teachers of the Year’ inspire students

Changing lives: Accountability courts help with recovery

Between 1999 and 2018, Boyd Kinney was in and out of rehab facilities in Georgia until he stumbled upon accountability court, a set of strict five-phase programs that use classes, mental health treatment, drug screens and surveillance to keep people out of jail.
