Candidates qualify for county, state and federal offices

The seat for county Magistrate Judge and posts on Rabun County’s Board of Education and Board of Commissioners are up for grabs in the May 19 General Primary/Nonpartisan Election with nine candidates qualifying last week to run for local office.

Officials give update on Henry Dillard St. closure

The Highway 441 widening project is underway and motorists can expect ongoing construction and potential traffic delays and road closures in the process.

Lake Rabun Foundation announces $50,000 grant for the ‘F.A.I.T.H. in the Future’ capital campaign

The Lake Rabun Foundation (LRF) has made the largest grant in its history to the “F.A.I.T.H. in the Future” capital campaign. This grant was part of $200,000 in grants the Foundation made to over 40 non-profit organizations in Rabun County in 2025.

TIGER, GA — High school juniors from across the county swapped their classrooms for the confines of the Rabun County Detention Center this past Monday, March 9, as part of Forward Rabun’s Youth Leadership program.

Celebrate America’s 250th birthday, Adopt a Road

On July 4, 2026, the United States will celebrate its 250th birthday marking the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. Rabun County and its cities have big plans to go all out for the celebration.

Gas hasn’t been sold at the Tiger four-way intersection in at least 20 years, but that will likely change since Tiger Town council members voted unanimously March 9 to approve a rezoning request for property located at 26 Bridge Creek Rd. from Residential to Commercial.

Cafeteria employee faces child molestation charge

A member of the Rabun County High School (RCHS) cafeteria staff has been arrested on charges related to inappropriate contact with a minor that allegedly occurred off campus and outside of school hours. Ashleigh Danielle Wilson, 26, of Clayton, was arrested on Feb.
