Georgia Power Forestry and Right of Way contractors will continue conducting vegetation maintenance along the rights of way in the Lakemont and Lake Rabun area. In an effort to improve reliability, GPC will employ a helicopter to prune certain portions of the rights of way in this area.

The U.S. flag symbolizes the courage of those who died to preserve its strength. The colors on “Old Glory,” as it is sometimes referred, have special meaning -- the white signifies purity and innocence; the red: hardiness and valor; and blue: vigilance, perseverance and justice.

Serving in the United States Armed Forces is something Scott Crane knew he wanted to do when he graduated from Rabun County High School. “Serving in the military gives me a special sense of pride in my country. A unique sense of pride,” Crane said.
