Public Safety continues saving lives by donating blood

Public safety officials risk their lives in service to others. Rabun County is blessed to have dedicated first responders committed to serving our community. Several first responders donated blood during a successful blood drive with The Blood Connection on Friday, Sept. 20, at Station 1 in Clayton.

Clayton council votes to put bids out for road paving

Clayton City Council members unanimously voted to bid out five city roads for paving during the regular meeting Sept. 17. The roads that were voted on and sent out to bid include Derrick Street, Clayton Avenue, Polly Gap Road, Old Chechero Road, and Avalon Street.

RCSO adds AEDs to patrol vehicles

Keeping the community safe is a priority for the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies continue to complete ongoing training and instruction to keep improving and moving forward in better serving the community.

Red Cross: Blood donors needed now to help combat critical need

The American Red Cross continues to amplify the ongoing critical need for blood and platelets to keep the blood supply stable as fall begins. Donors of all blood types, especially those with type O blood, those giving platelets and those who have never given before, are needed now.
