GSP provides update on Aug. 30 crash

Georgia State Patrol (GSP) has released more information regarding an Aug. 30 crash involving four vehicles on. Ga. 15 at Bo James Street in Clayton. According to the Motor Vehicle Crash Report provided by GSP, Sterling Seagram Hopper, 29, of Newport, Tenn.

Childers reflects on time at Rabun County Schools

After 30 years of dedicated service in the field of education and five years leading Rabun County Schools, current Superintendent Dr. April Childers will officially retire effective Sept. 30.

Nichols pleads guilty to Violation of Oath

Suspended Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols pled guilty on Friday, Sept. 13, to one count of Violation of Oath of Office in connection with a case of making inappropriate contact with a female. The final disposition before the Hon. Judge Albert B.

‘Roll’ reversal

In a change of plans, Clayton City Council members unanimously adopted a 2024 rollback millage rate of 7.059 at the regular council meeting Tuesday, Sept. 17. This was different from how the council voted at the Aug. 20 meeting, when they tentatively adopted to keep the current millage rate of 7.

Man, 80, dies following Ga. 15 crash in Dillard

An 80-year-old man died following a morning crash involving two vehicles on Ga. 15 at Franklin Street in Dillard on Friday, Sept. 13. Ralph Ratta succumbed to his injuries from the crash, according to preliminary details provided by the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Public Information Office.
