July First Friday Fest benefits Boy Scouts of America Troop 6

CLAYTON– July’s First Friday Fest at The Rock House in Clayton July 7 brought much community support as the band “Playing it Forward” performed for the fundraising event, where all donations went to Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Troop 6. BSA Troop 6 also had a bake sale during the concert.

Painted Fern Art Festival colors Clayton with original art

The city of Clayton served as the easel for the Painted Fern Art Festival presented by the North Georgia Arts Guild at the Rabun County Civic Center July 8 and 9.

Diaper Day Resource Fair coming this weekend

The Rabun County Health Department offers many services and resources available to Rabun County residents. Amerigroup Community Care, Rabun Department of Public Health and Medlink Georgia invite the community to a Diaper Day Resource Fair Saturday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Tallulah Falls, Sky Valley, Dillard House celebrate Independence Day with festivities

Rabun County was decorated in red, white and blue for Independence Day over the weekend and July 3 and 4 as crowds of people turned out to the Town of Tallulah Falls, City of Sky Valley,  The Dillard House and Lake Rabun for the annual Wooden Boat Parade to celebrate America’s birthday.

Painted Fern Art Festival brushes Clayton this weekend

**This article has been updated** CLAYTON– Clayton is the perfect canvas for the 2023 Painted Fern Art Festival presented by the North Georgia Arts Guild. The event will brush Rabun County this weekend, Saturday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, July 9, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

In groups, the skiers went around the Rabun County lake for a total of 27 miles. This popular annual event has been putting smiles on individuals’ faces for the past 15 years. This time the youngest skier was 10 years old.

Ski Patriots honor Independence Day with their 15th annual trek around Lake Burton
