Development authority discusses bringing business to Rabun County

Dillard man identified after being airlifted for burns

A Dillard man was transported by Air Life helicopter to Grady Memorial Hospital after sustaining burns while attempting to stomp out a hay bale fire Feb. 8. The man was identified as William Morris, 79, according to Rabun County Emergency Medical Services.

‘Legally Blonde The Musical’ legit winner

“Legally Blonde The Musical” at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School last week showcased the talents of nearly 100 of the school’s students.

Clayton Cafe set to reopen

The Clayton Cafe is set to reopen after closing unexpectedly in December. The date of the reopening has not been announced. However, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is scheduled to be at the Clayton Cafe and adjacent Market at 50 North Main Street in Clayton for a “Meet & Greet” on Friday, Feb.

Rabun Boy Scouts participate in Scout Sunday

Scout Sunday on Feb. 6 the scouts of Troop 19 and Cub Scout Pack 6 in Rabun was celebrated at Persimmon Baptist church. Scout Sunday is a national event celebrating faith and the anniversary of Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Lawrence and his parish welcomed the scouts during Sunday services.

Leak causes loss of almost one million gallons of water

CLAYTON– The city of Clayton lost approximately a million gallons from a Feb. 10 main break that left residents and businesses without water for several hours.

‘Legally Blonde The Musical’ Friday, Saturday at Rabun Gap

“Legally Blonde The Musical” opened Thursday night at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School as two more shows are scheduled in the Rearden Theater on the campus. The shows on Friday, Feb. 11, and Saturday, Feb. 12, also will be at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online atwww.rabungap.

SDS resolution closer to reality

A resolution to the years-long dispute between the city of Clayton and the Rabun County Government regarding the Service Delivery Strategy (SDS) is closer to reality. County and City of Clayton officials are finalizing the language and terms in legal documentation.
