Commission votes for Fire Station 8 land purchase

Rabun County Commissioners approved a $295,000 purchase of 15 acres of land in the Satolah community for the purpose of building a fire station during a special called meeting Nov. 10.

City council approves road closure for 'Celebrate Clayton'

CLAYTON-- Clayton City Council members voted Tuesday to close part of Main Street on Saturday, April 23, and Sunday, April 24, for Celebrate Clayton. Council members Ara Joyce, Michelle Duquette and John Bradshaw voted in favor of the motion.

Sky Valley OKs $3,750 for new marketing website

SKY VALLEY-- Sky Valley City Council members voted unanimously to approve $3,750 to hire Lawson Media Group to create a marketing website for the city. Funding will come from the Marketing Committee budget, which is funded by the city of Sky Valley, the Sky Valley Country Club and POA.

Rabun Gap students tackle global challenges

22nd annual Veterans Dinner 'huge success'

Those who have served in the military from Rabun County and all around the region were honored at the 22nd annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner presented by the Rabun County Chamber of Commerce and Forward Rabun. The event that had about 400 people on Veterans Day, Nov.

RCSO awarded $60,720 grant by Governor's Office of Highway Safety

CLAYTON-- The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) recently received a $60,720 High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) Grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS).
