James (Jim) Lee Parshall

Mr. James (Jim) Lee Parshall, 79, of Beech Island, S.C., passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022. He was born in Baltimore, Md., and lived in Aiken County, S.C., for the last 35 years. He proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Army.

James Bernard Carrigan

James Bernard Carrigan, age 78, of Rabun Gap, passed away on March 5, 2022. Jim, as he was affectionately known, was born in Detroit, Mich., the son of the late Bernard Charles Carrigan and the late Loretta Mary Graves Carrigan.

Althalene Waters

Althalene Waters, age 101 of Clayton, went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 22, 2022. She was born to the late Lawrence Bud Crone and the late Katherine Mama Kate Gaines Crone. Althalene was a founding member of the Black Rock Baptist Church.

Octavia Lee Wade

Octavia Lee Wade, infant daughter of Zackery Logan Wade and Kelsey Lee Speed went to be with the Lord on Feb. 22, 2022. The family had a private graveside service at Rabun Memory Park on Feb. 27, 2022, with Rev. Kyle Watts officiating.

Carolyn Hagood Clarke Horton

Carolyn Hagood Clarke Horton, went home to be with her Lord on Feb. 16, 2022. Carolyn was born on March 12, 1938, in Atlanta, Ga., to the late Harrison Clarke and Alice J. Spratt.

Melanie Wilson Nix

Melanie Wilson Nix, 53, of the Satolah community, went to her heavenly home March 4, 2022. Melanie was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church and she was strong in her faith with God. The next most important thing was her family.

William Marion Crump

William Marion Crump, 74 of Tiger, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2022, at Martin Community Hospital. He was a Rabun County resident, worked for Waste Management and was of the Baptist Faith. Funeral arrangements included a visitation on Feb.

Jinny Rebaca Webb

Jinny Rebaca Webb, 50, of Clayton, passed away at Stephens County Hospital on Feb. 15, 2022. She enjoyed visiting friends and family with her husband, crocheting, spending time with her dogs and playing cards with her family. Visitation was at the Eastside Chapel on Feb.

Martha Sirmans

Martha Sirmans, 86, passed away at her home in Tiger in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2022.   She was born Sep. 20, 1935, in Larkinsville, Ala., to Benjamin and Ruby Harper, and lived her early years in Alabama before moving with her parents to Marietta in 1953.

Janice Massee

Janice Tuggle Massee, age 84 of Clayton, passed away on Feb. 15, 2022. Janice was born the daughter of the late Ralph Tuggle and Alice Armstead Tuggle on June 24, 1937. Janice grew up on the Tuggle Dairy in Decatur, which she remembered all her life as some of the best days.
