James Dennis Brookshire

James Dennis Brookshire, 55, of Charleston, S.C., entered into eternal rest Friday, March 25, 2022. His memorial service was held Friday, April 1, 2022, in J. Henry Stuhr, Inc., Mt. Pleasant Chapel, at 3:00 p.m. The family received friends an hour before the service and following.

James Harold Smith

James Harold Smith, Rabun County native, veteran of three wars, passed away at his home in Augusta, on March 22 at age 93. Born in Habersham County, Harold grew up on Wolf Creek Road. He was the son of Oscar Smith and Bessie (Taylor) Smith.

Michael Eugene Tacheny

Michael Eugene Tacheny, age 75 of Clayton, passed away on March 22, 2022. Michael was born the son of the late Henry Louis Tacheny and the late Dorothy Mae Sheldon Tacheny on Jan. 23, 1947, in Mankato, Minnesota.

Janey Lovell Lampros

Janey Lovell Lampros, age 87, passed away March 23, 2022, after a period of declining health. She was born Aug. 3, 1934, the daughter of the late Fulton V. Lovell and Winnie Davis Lovell.  Janey grew up in Clayton, Ga. She graduated from Rabun County High School in 1952.

Pollyann Bryson Matson

Pollyann Bryson Matson, of Cumming, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 26, 2022 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. She was born in Murphy, N.C., on April 13, 1939. Her father was the late Loy Gordon Bryson and her mother was the late Anabel Hood Bryson.

William Lloyd Hunter

William Lloyd Hunter, 93, entered into his Heavenly Home on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at his home on Warwoman Road. Born on Aug. 14, 1928, in Tiger, Ga., he was the son of the late Robert Edgar Hunter and Bessie Cora Carnes Hunter.

Hunter remembered as a public servant, pillar of community

Lloyd Hunter is remembered by community members as a true public servant who was compassionate and helped anyone he could. Those who knew him well referred to him as a “pillar of the community” and a dependable, hard-working man.

Mr. James Michael Kilby, Sr.

Mr. James Michael Kilby, Sr., 70 of Tifton, died Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Tift Regional Medical Center after an extended illness with his family by his side.

Helen Jeanette Johnson Lackey

Helen Jeanette Johnson Lackey, age 90, passed peacefully into eternity on March 16, 2022, at her residence in Lakemont. Born on May 19, 1931, to Charlie and Edna Gardner Johnson in Rockdale County, she is preceded in death by her parents and her infant brother, Robert.

Lillian “Ruth” Williams

Lillian “Ruth” Williams was called home unexpectedly by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 17, 2022, at the age of 86. Ruth passed away in her home and was surrounded by family shortly after.
