Robert "Bob" Alley Turpin died on July 14, 2021. There are no services planned at this time. Beck Funeral Home, in Clayton, is in charge of the arrangements.

Jack Suddath Short died last July 30, 2020 but because of the COVID-19 epidemic, his funeral was postponed. The celebration of his well-lived life will be held on Saturday July 31, 2021 in the Chapel of the Beck Funeral Home, in Clayton, Georgia.

Norma Owens Wilborn

Norma Owens Wilborn ,75, of the Satolah Community in Rabun County, Ga., passed to her heavenly home on Wednesday July 14, 2021, following a brief illness. Norma was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in the Satolah community.

Sue Tidwell Dixon Paulsen

On July 24, 2021, at 10 a.m., a private memorial service for Sue Tidwell Dixon Paulsen will be held at St. James Episcopal Church in Clayton, Ga. Following the service, Sue’s family will continue her Celebration of Life with an Open House party for all who loved her from noon to 2 p.m.

Chandler Breck Patterson

Chandler Breck Patterson, age 27, of Braselton, Georgia, passed away on June 27, 2021. He was born the son of Breck Patterson and Lisa Thompson Patterson on February 17, 1994. Chandler was a graduate of Rabun County High School and the University of West Georgia.

Patricia Ann York Timberlake

Patricia Ann York Timberlake (affectionately known as Pat) born in Rabun County, Georgia June 26, 1941 to Doc Carlton York and Marie Williams York Hollifield, passed away on June 29, 2021 after an extended illness. Patricia is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Ammond T. Timberlake.

Robert Edwin Wells of Atlanta and Rabun Gap died peacefully on June 15, 2021 at his home in Rabun County, Georgia. Born in Hapeville, Ga. on April 7, 1927, Bob Wells was the fourth child of Ouida Cox Wells and Jere Asmond Wells, both educators in Fulton County, Georgia. Jere was the Fulton Co.

Rodney Allen Roe M.D.

Rodney Allen Roe M.D., age 78 of Clayton, Ga., passed away on June 24, 2021. Rodney was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Rex Allen Roe and the late Joyce Jones Roe. He grew up on Fort Smith, Arkansas. He leaves behind his loving wife, Lynn Byars Roe, of Clayton.

James Homer Rider, Sr.

James Homer Rider, Sr., age 69 of Baldwin, passed away on Thursday, June 24, 2021. Born in Clarkesville, Georgia on April 26, 1952, he was a son of Katheryn Kimbrell Rider of Gainesville and the late Homer Lee Rider.

L. “Jim” Steele

L. “Jim” Steele passed away June 21, 2021 in Toccoa, Ga. after a long illness. He is survived by Adele Steele, his dedicated wife of 46 years, sister Patti Kleinert of Alto, brother Charles Steele of Toccoa, son Captain Jimmy Galbreath of Mountain City, and many nieces and nephews.
