Officer remembered as 'one of a kind'

The law enforcement community in Rabun County is mourning the loss of one of its own sisters in blue, Detention Center Officer Courtney Faith Zajdowicz.  Zajdowicz, 26 of Mountain City, passed away Sept. 1.

A service for Doris Edmonds Keener, 85, will be held at Beck Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5. Mrs. Keener passed away Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021. Born June 29, 1936, in Clayton, she was the daughter of the late William and Bell Edmonds.

Lassie Arizonia Carpenter Holt

Lassie Arizonia Carpenter Holt, 85, passed away Aug. 30, 2021 following an extended illness. Born Feb. 9, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Florence Carpenter.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Holt; and son, Wayne Holt.

Gary Eugene Wall, 67, of Clayton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 at his home. The body has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is at the home on U.S. 76 West in Clayton.
