Joseph Francis Ostertag passed away at his home in Clayton, Georgia on July 24, 2021, at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.  Joe was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to Arthur and Frances Ostertag.

Shirley Watts, age 76 of Clarkesville, passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, surrounded by her family. Born in Clayton on April 22, 1945, she was a daughter of the late Herbert (Hub) and Fannie Mae Tyler Watts. Shirley was raised in Rabun County where she met her husband Jimmy.

Janie Evelyn Henslee

Janie Evelyn Henslee, 77, of Rabun County, Ga. passed away on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at her daughter’s residence in Clarkesville, Ga.  Born in Rabun County on January 18, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee Henslee and Grace Eugene Watts.

Belinda Marie Coleman Ramey

Belinda Marie Coleman Ramey was born to the late Dock and Marie Parker Coleman on January 19, 1952.  She was one of the first babies born in the new Rabun County Memorial Hospital. Belinda lost her long fight with thyroid cancer on July 7, 2021.

Danny Steve Hammons

Danny Steve Hammons, age 74, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 after a long and courageous battle from complications caused by Covid. Steve was born in Georgetown, Kentucky on October 31, 1946. He proudly served in the US Navy as a hospital corpsman.

Jack Suddath Short

Jack Suddath Short died last July 30, 2020 but because of the COVID-19 epidemic, his funeral was postponed. The celebration of his well-lived life will be held on Saturday July 31, 2021 in the Chapel of the Beck Funeral Home, in Clayton, Georgia.

Cynthia Burrell of Clayton, Ga. passed away on July 14, 2021, at the age of 44. Cindy is survived by her significant other, Grady Holcomb; her mother, Desirae Watts of Clayton, Ga.; her three children, Bruce Burrell/ Sierra Bell of Franklin, N.C.

Bill Russell Williams of Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away Wednesday July 14, 2021 from injuries he received in an automobile accident on Chena Hot Springs Road Tuesday July 13. He was born October 17th, 1941 in a small log cabin in Tiger, Georgia to Bonnie Stockton Williams and Elbert Nathan Williams.
