More than champions on the field

Rabun County High School hosted the first-ever “Night of Champions” with athletes with a spiritual message as the well-attended event was presented by community churches and businesses on Sunday evening, July 14.

National champs; Tallulah Falls marksmen aim on target with precision rifle history

The Tallulah Falls School precision rifle team made history when it won a national championship on Wednesday, July 10.  The two-day match that began on Tuesday, July 9, saw the Indians’ Team One shoot a score of 2,239 on the second day which was a school record.

UGA Athletic Association makes stop in Rabun County, shows off historical artifacts

The University of Georgia Athletic Association (UGAAA) traveled to Rabun County bringing over 50 different historic Georgia Bulldog athletics artifacts for the public to see and learn about on Friday, June 28.

A ropin’ good time at Rabun Arena

There’s not many things that feel more patriotic than sending hundreds of fireworks into the night sky during Fourth of July weekend, but the Bar W Rodeo Company did its best to counter that, raising the bar and honoring America with a good ole’ fashioned rodeo.

Rabun Ramble tops 900 in 5K/10K entrants

The combination of a busy visitor weekend, community involvement, and Independence Day celebration helped drive the 18th annual Rabun Ramble to a record number of entrants in the annual 5K/10K on July 6 as participants battled the hilly terrain around the lake.

Record numbers race in 40th annual Lake Burton Fun Run

As America celebrated its 248th birthday this past Fourth of July weekend, the Lake Burton Fun Run celebrated its 40th in a huge way.

Wildcats wrap up successful summer slate with 18-4 record

As hot as it has been this summer, the Rabun County High School boys basketball team has been even hotter as the Wildcats competed in a slew of summer games going 18-4 overall.

Brazilian soccer camp returns for second summer in Rabun County

The Rabun County Recreation Department hosted the Brazilian United Soccer Corporation (BUC) that sent three experienced coaches to teach local kids the sport of soccer June 17-21.
