TFS honors outstanding students, faculty, staff

Tallulah Falls School has announced its outstanding students, faculty and staff for 2023. Award winners were surprised at a Dec. 13 assembly. “It is a pleasure to honor outstanding members of the TFS community through these annual awards,” said President and Head of School Larry A. Peevy.

Outgoing Clayton council members honored for service

Clayton city council members wrapped up their last meeting of 2023 on Tuesday and next year brings new faces to the council. Outgoing council members David Cross, Woody Blalock and John Bradshaw were honored for their service to the community during special recognition following Tuesday’s meeting.

Foxfire warms up the Season

The lingering chances of rain did not hamper the jingling of bells and singing of carols at the annual “A Foxfire Christmas” on Dec. 16 in Mountain City as happy families toured the property to learn more about Appalachian history.

Village of Lights gives back to community for 10th annual event

The elaborate Christmas lights display at Tiger Connector is back again for the 10th annual Christmas Village of Lights. The event is provided by Kirk Knous and Fight Abuse in the Home (F.A.I.T.H.) as a fundraiser and way to give back to the community. Crowds of people showed out Dec.

Santa and the Elves traded the sleigh for a tractor on Dec. 7 as they made their way to the Rabun County Schools Agricenter for the inaugural free community event “Santa and Elves on the Farm.

‘Praising a living savior’

The spirit of God is alive and flowing during revival at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church in Dillard as hundreds have chosen to follow Jesus and many have rededicated their lives to God. Week seven of revival began on Monday evening, Dec. 11, with 133 souls saved and still counting since Oct.

God uses people from all different walks of life to make a difference and share the Gospel – sometimes at the most unexpected times and places.

Step back in time to A Foxfire Christmas

Step back in time and see what a true Appalachian Christmas is all about during “A Foxfire Christmas” this Saturday, Dec. 16. The 98 Foxfire Lane, Mountain City location will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and visitors can celebrate the Christmas spirit of the Appalachians.
