The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office has a new addition to its team with 2-year-old Belgian Malinois K9 Spike.
Born in the Netherlands, Spike and his handler Cpl. Clinton Scott successfully completed eight weeks of training and the team is now patrolling Rabun County.

RCSO awarded $20,976 grant from highway safety

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office was recently awarded a $20,976 High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS).
This is the third year the sheriff’s office has received the grant and it will continue through September of 2024.

Megan Horn/The Clayton Tribune. Rabun County Fire Services recently put brand new Engine 1 into service and it has already responded to several calls within the county. The brand new apparatus replaces the 2018 engine that was previously used at Station 1.

Rabun County Fire Services has seen a busy call volume this year with more than 2,000 calls so far, and a brand-new apparatus now helps respond to those calls.
Fire services received Engine 1 on Oct. 23 and it’s already responded to several calls within the county.
