Commissioners approve county’s golf pro shop rebuild at $1.4 million

The Rabun County Golf Club building is set to be rebuilt thanks to a vote by commissioners on Dec. 19, 2023, to approve a $1.4 million bid from Tom Adams Construction to rebuild the Golf Pro Shop. The building sustained heat and smoke damage from a fire that occurred Dec. 23, 2021.

More than 100 people in the community showed up to Rabun Paws 4 Life Dec. 23 to share their caring hearts and lend helping hands for the “Walking Paws” event.

Dillard passes amended hotel/motel tax ordinance

Dillard City Council members voted at a special called meeting Dec. 21 on the second reading to amend the hotel/motel tax ordinance to clarify language and establish guidelines for operating hotels and motels in the city of Dillard.

Minor injuries reported in five-vehicle crash in Clayton

A crash involving five vehicles on Highway 441 (Ga. 15) just before its intersection with East Savannah Street in Clayton on Dec. 21 resulted in minor injuries being reported. Georgia State Patrol responded at approximately 3:57 p.m., according to crash information from Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

The Spaghetti Dinner Raise a Fork for Great Causes fundraiser at Clayton Cafe & Market Nov. 20 raised $2,920 for Rabun County Fire Services and Rabun County EMS. The quarterly spaghetti dinners raise money for local nonprofits and organizations.

Northeast Georgia Medical Center matches new class of Fellows in Cardiovascular Disease

GAINESVILLE – More physicians are on the way to care for patients with cardiovascular disease as Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) learned who is joining the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship program.
