Tallulah Falls passes resolution during weekend called meeting

TALLULAH FALLS– In an unprecedented move, Tallulah Falls Town Council members held a special called meeting on a Saturday, Sept. 16, for the purpose of going into executive session and consideration and decision on a mediation settlement agreement.

Car seat safety checks this weekend

Child Passenger Safety Technicians will be at Walmart in Clayton Saturday, Sept. 23, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. as Safe Kids Rabun County and Rabun County Sheriff’s Office will host a seat check station. The event is free and open to the community. Sept. 17-23 is Child Passenger Safety Week; and Sept.

Sky Valley passes Short-Term Rental Ordinance

SKY VALLEY– After several meetings, Sky Valley City Council members voted Tuesday to approve the highly discussed Short-Term Rental Ordinance. “We’ve had numerous, numerous meetings,” said Sky Valley Mayor Hollie Steil at Tuesday’s meeting. “We’re trying to make good neighbors.

Spaghetti dinner fundraiser raises $4,550 for Rabun Paws 4 Life

Community members raised a fork to a great cause Aug. 21 as the quarterly Spaghetti Dinner Raise a Fork for Great Causes fundraiser at Clayton Cafe & Market benefitted Rabun Paws 4 Life. The event raised $4,550 with Poss Realty volunteering to serve the food.

Clayton council passes 30-day moratorium on specific-density units

CLAYTON– Zoning was on the agenda during Tuesday’s Clayton City Council meeting as council members passed a 30-day moratorium on the acceptance of permit applications for developments of a greater density than six detached units per acre.
