Megan Broome/The Clayton Tribune. Clayton Police Department Sgt. William Wall and Chief Andy Strait were recognized for 10 years and 25 years of service respectively during Tuesday’s Clayton City Council meeting. Both officers were presented with appreciation plaques and honored during the meeting.

With their cups they got from a food truck, 11-year-old Grayson Miller and his brother Asher, 8, have a reason to smile as they stay dry under a table at the Downtown Clayton Block Party as a storm blew through Main Street on Aug. 12. Water droplets can be seen coming off the table as the paper towels next to their feet on the street are saturated.

Enoch Autry/The Clayton Tribune. More than 100 dressed the part of either Barbie or Ken to watch the new film at the Tiger Drive-In on Aug. 4. Additionally, almost $7,000 was raised to support F.A.I.T.H. by the group wearing a lot of pink.

Megan Broome/The Clayton Tribune. Participants in the 14th Annual Prayer Motorcade say prayers at Rabun County Primary School. The motorcade began at the Rabun County Board of Education and the group traveled to each of the public schools to ask Jesus to bless and protect the children, administrators, faculty, and staff during the new school year.
