Downtown Clayton Block Party coming this weekend

Main Street in Clayton will be the place to be for everyone on the block this Saturday as the community gears up for the Downtown Clayton Block Party Saturday, Aug. 12, from 5-8 p.m. It is organized by the Clayton Merchants and Business Association (CMBA).

Clayton Farmers Market holds 10th annual Garlic Fest

This year the Clayton Farmers Market celebrated its 10th annual Garlic Fest Saturday, July 29. More than 20 vendors sold garlic-inspired items, fresh produce, handmade goods and much more. The garlic pie contest had eight entries.

Enjoying the First Friday

Community members showed out to The Rock House on Friday, Aug. 4, to listen to Scott Low perform for the First Friday Fest concert put on by the Clayton Merchants and Business Association (CMBA). Friday’s event benefited the local nonprofit Fight Abuse in the Home (F.A.I.T.H.).

Candlelight vigil honors Hanrahan

The light remains for Francis “Frank” Patrick Hanrahan in Rabun County as community members honored his memory during a Candlelight Vigil held at the north end of Ingles in Clayton Monday, Aug. 7, where he worked for 23 years.

24 hours of bluegrass

The city of Dillard was filled with bluegrass music and beautiful weather as the 26th Dillard Bluegrass Festival returned to City Hall Fairgrounds with an eventful, toe-tapping lineup. And it was all for Rabun County charities and nonprofits.

Fatal crash diverts 441 traffic for hours

A Rabun Gap man died following a two-vehicle crash on Highway 441 (Ga. 15) just north of its intersection with Old Highway 441 Monday morning, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Media Release Form. Francis P.

Only a few hours of summer break left

Tuesday, Aug. 8, marks the first day of classes for Rabun County schools as open houses are scheduled for Friday. RCHS Principal Justin Spillers said he and his staff are “incredibly excited to welcome students back on Aug. 8.
