Forward Rabun/Rabun County Chamber of Commerce held a fantastic Ribbon-Cutting and Open House Event to celebrate and congratulate its member, Tiger Drive-In, on the newly opened Artisan Crafts & Flea Market Saturday, July 8, at its location, 2956 Old U.S. Highway 441 South, Tiger.

CLAYTON– No apparent injuries resulted from a two-vehicle crash at Ramey Boulevard on June 5. Clayton officers were traveling south on Ga. 15 (Highway 441) when they drove up to a two-vehicle crash that had just occurred at the intersection of Ga.

Roswell man ‘in stable condition’ after Hwy. 197 motorcycle crash

A Roswell, Ga., man is “in stable condition” after being seriously injured in a motorcycle crash on Highway 197 near Laurel Lodge Road July 16. Victor Carroll Hoye, 77, was driving a silver 2007 Suzuki DL 650K. Rabun County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the crash around 11:05 a.m.

Salt Fest 2023 supports, raises funds for cystic fibrosis

Youth give back through Rabun Aid Program

Clayton First United Methodist Church (CFUMC) hosted the annual Rabun Aid Program (RAP) youth missions camp June 21-25.

‘Do-nut worry’

Rabun Countians woke up early last Thursday for a sweet deal in Clayton as the new Dunkin’ Donuts opened its doors July 13. Amber Owens and her daughter Rylee, 5, made it to the new business, located at 539 U.S. 441, bright and early and were the first customers to make purchases at 4:54 a.m.

USPS ‘not in a position’ to obtain input from citizens

Mountain City officials continue the search for answers regarding the sudden closure of the Mountain City Post Office Feb. 28, 2023. At Tuesday’s Mountain City council meeting, Mayor Grace Watts informed citizens that a response from the United States Postal Service (USPS) was received.
