Rabun County Primary School has achieved a rare and impressive honor. With an announcement made Tuesday, the school is one of only a few primary schools to become a Title I Reward School.

An election debate will be Oct. 11 at the Rabun County Civic Center for the two contested post seats for the Clayton city council. The Wednesday debate that is free to attend begins at 6 p.m.

Foxfire Mountaineer Festival coming to Clayton this weekend

The community is gearing up for the Foxfire Mountaineer Festival coming to Clayton this weekend. “This is our biggest fundraiser of the year,” said Todd Faircloth, executive director of Foxfire Museum and Appalachian Heritage Center. The event is Saturday, Oct. 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
