A two-vehicle crash on Highway 76 West near Highway 197 resulted in possible injuries when a Home Depot flatbed truck and Volkswagen Jetta crashed on June 19.

Local library Summer Reading Program in full swing

The Rabun County Public Library Summer Reading Program is in full swing as many fun and educational activities are scheduled over the next couple of months. The Summer Reading Program kicked off May 31 with an Ice Cream Sundae party that went right along with this year’s theme, “All Together Now.

RCSO hosts Ladies’ Self-Defense classes

Participants in the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office Ladies’ Self-Defense classes recently learned to “be the hero” as they gained knowledge of how to avoid dangerous situations and how to protect themselves with techniques and strategies for self defense during special training sessions.

St. James 15th Annual Flower and Liturgical Festival

“All Things Bright and Beautiful” was the theme for the 15th Annual Flower and Liturgical Festival at St. James Episcopal Church June 23 and 24. And the display was just that as bright colors of beautiful flowers in intricate designs were out for view around the church sanctuary and grounds.

Water/sewer issues continue to simmer

A decision about the offer made by the Rabun County Water & Sewer to the City of Clayton still has not be agreed upon or dismissed about the city’s water infrastructure. When a decision or even further discussion will occur remains in question.

Retired Rabun EOD K9 dies at age of 14

Law enforcement K9s play an important role in aiding departments to help keep citizens safe and serve their communities in many capacities.
