Lucy Vogelbacher, a Civil Air Patrol cadet from Rabun Gap, was presented the Eaker Achievement by Major General Aye, the Civil Air Patrol National Commander, in a recent ceremony in Atlanta.

Each child has a purpose. And locally, the Place of Hope North Georgia provides additional support for foster children. For a fifth consecutive year, the organization has held its signature “Picnic for a Purpose” event to raise funds to assist children going through foster care program. On Sept.

The No. 14 has been worn by generations of football players at Rabun County High School. It means more than just a number to the program, it is a standard of excellence and it’s a legacy.

Rabun WWII vet Causey passes away

Dr. Eldred Wayne Causey lived a long life that was filled with protected citizens worldwide and pets back in Georgia. At the age of 101, Causey passed away on Sept. 5, at his residence with his daughter Kathy Causey by his side.
