Clayton passes alcohol ordinance amendment involving Farm Winery Tasting Rooms

An alcohol ordinance amendment geared toward Farm Winery Tasting Rooms and other alcohol provisions was adopted by the City of Clayton during the Aug. 12 regular council meeting. The meeting was met with a room full of community members interested in the city amending its alcohol ordinances.

His Last Days Outdoor Passion Drama set for its 43rd year of worship performance

The field is being prepared, and final touches are being done on the costumes. Music is being rehearsed, and dancers prepare their steps. The all-volunteer cast is preparing to participate in one of the year’s most moving worship events.

Northeast Georgia CASA has three new CASA volunteers

Each year in Northeast Georgia, more than 300 children experience the trauma of being removed from their home and placed into foster care due to neglect or abuse by their parents/caregivers.

Rabun County Democrats invite community for fellowship

“Yes, there are Democrats in Rabun County” is the proud slogan of the local Rabun County Democrats. According to Chair Don Martin, “we’re welcoming new members every day.” The group meets on the second Monday of each month in the Community Room at the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia.

$5 million expansion for Rabun broadband

Rabun County along with neighboring Habersham County have been included in the Georgia Technology Authority’s (GTA) final proposal for the Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment (BEAD) Program grant funding.
