TIGER — The Rabun County volleyball team hosted Cherokee Bluff and West Hall for a three-team meet and came away with a pair of losses at Rabun County’s Ken Byrd Court last Thursday.
The Wildcats forced a third set with Cherokee Bluff, before falling 2-1 (25-11, 28-26, 15-7).

CLAYTON— The first reading of an update to the county ordinance regarding excise tax for rooms, lodging and accommodations was approved by commissioners at the Rabun County Board of Commissioners meeting on Tuesday.
“This is a revamping of our hotel/motel tax,” said Allyn Stockton, county attorney.

Suspect sought in hit-and-run boat accident

LAKE BURTON— A hit-and-run boat accident on Lake Burton resulted in a 29-year-old woman being airlifted to Northeast Georgia Medical Center with injuries to her arm and head.
The incident occurred last Thursday between 4-6 p.m.

Rabun County hosting Jim Kelly Tennis Tournament

Rabun County High School hosts the 22nd annual Jim Kelly Tennis Tournament, a singles, doubles and mixed doubles tournament, Oct. 26-27.
The tournament in a fundraiser for the Rabun County tennis teams. Winners in each category will have their names added to a perpetual trophy.
