Community policing key for Baumes as Sky Valley Chief

Transparent communication, helping residents and equipping police officers with the tools needed to be successful are important goals for new Sky Valley Chief of Police Ronald Baumes. The City of Sky Valley announced Baumes’ promotion and his first day serving in the position was Monday, Feb. 17.

Oconee deputies arrest five

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office (S.C.) arrested five subjects recently in the county as the result of a search for a suspect who was arrested March 3 by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office in a homicide investigation. The arrests occurred during the execution of a search warrant on Feb.

Rabun FFA Livestock exhibitors get results at state

The Rabun County FFA Livestock Program ended the Winter Show Season last week after showing at the 2025 State Livestock Show, held from Feb. 19-22 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds in Perry, Ga.
