Georgia students invited to take fall STEM Challenge

  MACON, Ga. – Georgia elementary classes in third through fifth grades are invited to enter the Fall 2024 STEM Challenge, “Turning Trash into Treasure,” to put their science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills to work.

Place of Hope North Georgia generates $102,000 at baseball-themed fundraiser

Place of Hope North Georgia held its fourth annual Picnic for a Purpose fundraiser on Thursday, Sept. 12, and with community support raised $102,000. Barbara Cantrell chaired this year’s Major League Baseball-themed event, which is Place of Hope’s largest fundraiser.

For three days, more than 100 with this year’s Leadership Georgia class had the opportunity to witness first-hand how much Rabun County and Clayton has to offer. Both the local residents and the visitors each came away with additional smiles on their faces.

Teen arrested for felony terroristic threats and acts against RCHS

A 15-year-old male juvenile was arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges related to a potential threat against Rabun County High School that was shared as a screenshot on social media last week. “On Sept. 6, 2024, investigators were able to identify and locate a person of interest.

Mountain Home Spa Company cuts ribbon

It was a fantastic Ribbon-Cutting event on Friday, Sept. 6, for Mountain Home Spa Company in Rabun Gap. The Ribbon-Cutting marked number 71 for Forward Rabun/Rabun County Chamber of Commerce since April 15, 2022! said Mickey Duvall, business and economic development strategist for Forward Rabun.
