Rabun Pickleball Club honored as GRPA statewide ‘Volunteer of Year’

The Rabun Pickleball Club was recently named as this year’s Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) statewide “Volunteer of the Year.”  The award recognizes the club’s community service work in and around Rabun County.

Vet-to-Vet Café brings veterans together

Camaraderie among military Veterans is extremely important. One way those who have served can connect with others is through the monthly Vet-to-Vet Café sponsored by Forward Rabun. The Vet-to-Vet Café is held every second Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m. Its new location beginning Nov.

VFW Post 4570 leaders are Army veterans

Rabun County is blessed to be the home of many veterans who proudly served in the United States military. Gary Cantwell is commander for VFW Post 4570 and Jon Jones is quartermaster for VFW Post 4570.

Ceremony to be held at courthouse on Veterans Day

There are many ways veterans can be appreciated by the communities they live in. In Rabun County, there is no shortage of people honoring the brave men and women who sacrificed much. Each year a ceremony is held at the military monument in front of the Rabun County Courthouse, 25 Courthouse Sq.
