Suspect now in custody for murder of former Clayton man

A wanted murder suspect and 18-year-old Anderson County, S.C., man is now in custody after an almost week-long search. Detectives have charged Daeshawn Marquize Wilson with the murder of once-missing man Jimmy Allen Ramey, 31, of Seneca, S.C. Ramey is formerly of Clayton.

Commissioners establish Advisory Council for Opioid Abatement Funds

Rabun County Commissioners recently established a resolution to appoint an Advisory Council that would give recommendations on ways to spend Opioid Abatement Funds, which is projected to reach $10 million over 10 years for the county. The five-member Advisory Council appointed during the Feb.

Foster earns 75-year apron, pin & plaque

Robert Hughes Foster, Sr. of Clayton was visited by Brother Van S. McGee on Feb. 11. McGee is the Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons of the State of Georgia. McGee presented Foster with his 75-year apron, pin and plaque.
