Danielsville fire kills one victim

ATLANTA – Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King announced that a residential fire in Madison County has killed one victim. Just after 6 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, a passing motorist reported a structure fire on Shiloh Fort Lamar Road to Madison County authorities.

Rabun County under local state of emergency

The Rabun County Office of Emergency Management and Rabun County Board of Commissioners issued a local state of emergency for Rabun County on Thursday at noon. The declaration for the local state of emergency was ordered Thursday, Dec. 22, at noon and expires on Monday, Dec.

Capt. Talley resigns from Rabun County Sheriff’s Office

Capt. Marty Talley with the Criminal Investigations Division recently turned in his resignation from the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office. Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols said in a prepared statement Tuesday evening that Talley submitted “his voluntary resignation” on Dec. 8.

VFW donates to Richard’s Kids

VFW Post 4570 in Clayton presents the local nonprofit Richard’s Kids with a donation of $1,000 recently. Henry thanked the VFW for the donation. Cantwell said the VFW was proud to donate to Rochard’s Kids because helping children in the community is important.
