Spaghetti fundraiser raises over $4,000 for Paws 4 Life

Clayton Cafe held its Spaghetti Dinner Raise a Fork for Great Causes event on Nov. 21 benefiting Rabun Paws 4 Life. Bonnie Edmonds with Clayton Cafe presented a donation check to Ara Joyce, outreach and fundraising with Rabun Paws 4 Life.

Avita Community Partners join chamber

Avita Community Partners is the newest Silver Member of Forward Rabun/Rabun County Chamber of Commerce. A ribbon cutting and grand opening event was held Dec. 2 at the facility, located at 18 Old Raco High Drive, Clayton.

An Otto, N.C., man was arrested and charged with driving without a valid license (misdemeanor) following a two-vehicle crash on Georgia 15 at the Highway 246 intersection in Dillard on Dec. 1.

CLAYTON– A three-vehicle crash near the Georgia 15 intersection of Ramey Blvd. in the afternoon on Nov. 28 resulted in suspected minor injuries. The crash occurred around 4 p.m.

Minor injuries were reported in a single vehicle crash on Highway 76 West near Olas Lane in Clayton Nov. 28. Daisey Owens, 69 of Anderson, S.C., with passenger James Owens, 73 of Anderson, S.C., was traveling east of Highway 76 West in a white 2001 Acura MDX, when the vehicle left the roadway.

Community members and visitors to Rabun County have one more weekend to visit the Christmas Village of Lights provided by the local nonprofit Fight Abuse in the Home (FAITH) and Kirk Knous. The display will light up the night sky this Friday and Saturday, Dec. 16-17, from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Another look at Clayton’s Christmas parade

The forecast did not look favorable for an outdoor parade on Dec. 3, but some Clayton received a little extra Christmas spirit as the rain stopped in time for the “12 Days of Rabun County Christmas” event on Main Street.
