The kernel of festivals

TIGER– Ah, shucks. It’s Fall again. But thankfully the Inaugural Tiger Corn Festival is popping up Saturday, Sept. 24. Dr. Guy Gober and Pam Wheeler are spearheading the event scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and last until about 2 p.m. on the grounds of Tiger City Hall, 3010 Old Highway 441 S., Tiger.

‘Milling Around’

TALLULAH FALLS– What was supposed to be the third public hearing and a Tallulah Falls council vote on the FY 2022 millage rate increase Sept. 8 turned out to be canceled due to a lack of quorum. Council member Scott Augustine was the only council member present at the meeting Sept. 8.

British cars rolling into our county

Rabun County will see an influx of vintage automobiles traveling its winding roads in the upcoming days. More than 140 marques of British cars and motorcycles are registered for the Southeast British Car Festival at The Dillard House. The four-day event begins Thursday, Sept.

Grist retires as Dillard City Council member

DILLARD– The city of Dillard honored Council Member Carron Grist by presenting her with a proclamation at Tuesday’s city council meeting. Grist announced that she was retiring after 14 years of service to the city of Dillard.
