Lady Indian volleyball to lean on experienced group

As the 2021 inches closer to first serve, the Lady Indians are loaded with experience and talent despite losing one of the program’s top players in history in Katy Corbett. Corbett, a Mercer beach volleyball signee, along with two other seniors who graduated, left some holes to fill for TFS.

Rabun County 11-year-old native Carlos Lopez-Justus was invited to spend 12 days in Italy to train with professional soccer coaches after attending a summer camp at the Atlanta Calcio Academy (ACA) in Habersham. Out of 34 players in the 12U group at the camp, he was the only player to be invited to Italy.

Italy experience sparks pro dreams of young soccer player

Rabun County native Carlos Lopez-Justus dreams of becoming a professional soccer player. He started playing soccer at the Rabun County Recreation Department when he was 5-years-old. He hopes to become like his favorite player, Portuguese soccer player Christian Ronaldo.

Vanderbilt is choice for Eagles’ Agu

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee football prospect Darren Agu has switched gears, decommitting from Notre Dame last week and pledging to attend Vanderbilt.  “This was definitely one of the HARDEST decisions I’ve had to make,” the 6-foot-6, 235-pound defensive end tweeted July 11.

Swim team celebrates first season

Closing the inaugural Tallulah Falls School summer swim league season, two dozen athletes celebrated with a shark-themed meet last Friday.  New natatorium director Katie Ralston engaged the help of youth coaches and lifeguards to add a festive touch to the new swim facility.
