Three Tallulah players named to all-Region 8-A Private baseball squad

On the heels of Tallulah Falls’ first state baseball playoff appearance, Chathan Clouatre, Aubrey Higgins and Trent Thomas have earned all-Region 8-A Private praise. Thomas, a senior, led the Indians in several offensive categories, hitting .320 with two homers and 23 runs batted in.

Indians’ Respress signs to compete at Anderson

Tallulah Falls School senior Simeon Respress signed a national letter of intent Monday to compete in track and field at Anderson University in Anderson, S.C. Anderson is an NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference.

TFS brings home third from Class A Private track meet

With 52 points, the Tallulah Falls boys track and field team finished a strong third at the state Class A Private meet May 13-15 at McEachern High School.  The points were the most the Indians have ever amassed at state, and the trophy their first-ever from the meet.

Maggie Jackson and Brinson Hall closed their brilliant Tallulah Falls School golf careers by leading the Lady Indians to a second-place tie May 17 and 18 at the Class A Private state tournament in Tucker.

Calea Jackson brought home two individual state titles for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, and Coleman Bryson won another and ran on a winning relay team May 15 at the North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association Division I state track and field championships. At Cary Academy in Cary, N.C.

Aidan Frias’ third-place showing in the pole vault was the highest finish for either the Rabun County High boys or girls teams at the state Class AA track and field meet last May 13-15 at McEachern High.

Sojat is eager for opportunity at Gardner-Webb

Gardner-Webb University may not have to wait long to learn how Dominik Sojat can impact a football game. The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee punter and kicker signed May 13 with the Division I Runnin’ Bulldogs, based in Boiling Springs, N.C., about 50 miles west of Charlotte.

Rabun Gap’s Saenz signs to play college soccer in Canada

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee soccer standout Jacobo Saenz will play collegiately in Canada after signing May 13 with the University of British Columbia, Okanagan Campus. “We are excited,” athletic director Dale Earnhardt said during the ceremony at Andrew Ritchie Gymnasium.
