Indians sweep opening Region 8-A Private series

Tallulah Falls’ baseball team got its Region 8-A Private slate off to a tremendous start Friday, sweeping the opening series from Loganville Christian Academy. That included a doubleheader sweep Friday at home, as the Indians won 6-3 and 10-1.

Wildcats, Indians tangle in track and field meet at RCHS

The Tallulah Falls School and Rabun County High track and field teams met last Friday in a two-team meet in Tiger.  Tallulah runner of the meet Zhigao Henrry Xiong set a personal record in the 800 and 1,600, and ran a good 3,200 as well, coach Scott Neal said.

Rabun Gap opens inaugural lacrosse season with 8-1 win

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School’s inaugural season of lacrosse started off strong with a huge win in the boys home opener last Friday. The Eagles defeated Christ Church Episcopal, 8-1 in front of a home crowd, marking a historic day for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee athletics.

Wildcat tennis teams sweep aside White, Elbert

With two wins apiece in three matches, the Rabun County High girls tennis team bumped their win total to six, and the boys to five.  RCHS split Region 8-AA matches last week, the boys and girls both sweeping visiting Elbert County and tumbling at Banks County.

RCHS boys linksters win twice

Behind Garrett Horton’s 36 and Connor Horton’s 38, the Rabun County High boys golfers defeated Stephens County by 73 shots last Thursday at Kingwood.  The Wildcats carded a 152 aggregate to the Indians’ 225.

TFS golfers win dual, place seventh in tourney

The Tallulah Falls School girls golfers stayed undefeated in dual matches Monday and placed seventh in a tournament last Saturday, both competitions covering 18 holes. Maggie Jackson shot a 75 and Brinson Hall a 78 last Saturday at the North American Junior Golf Athens Classic.

Wildcats open region slate with three defeats to Banks

Three losses to Banks County last week put the RCHS baseball Wildcats in an 0-3 bind starting Region 8-AA play.  The Leopards began a three-game set by winning at home March 9, then scored 26 runs over a doubleheader sweep last Friday in Tiger.  The defeats dropped the Wildcats to 5-5 overall.
