’Cats split soccer openers with Stephens

The Rabun County High soccer openers Feb. 9 with visiting Stephens finished with identical finals, the boys prevailing and the girls falling a goal shy.  Scheduled home matches last Friday against visiting Tallulah Falls and Tuesday, Feb. 16, against Towns County were cancelled.

Rabun Gap wrestlers take down two opponents

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee wrestlers won seven matches by pin and two others by technical fall last Friday while sweeping North Raleigh Christian and host Southlake Christian in Huntersville, N.C. The Eagles recorded four falls — three in the first period — in beating North Raleigh, 41-27.

Future is bright for TFS swimming after record-breaking season

The success of the Tallulah Falls School swim teams throughout the 2020-21 season can be gauged on the common theme of breaking records.  That’s what the TFS swimmers at both the middle-school and high-school level did on an almost weekly basis throughout the season.

Tallulah Falls School baseball standout Chathan Clouatre’s future diamond pursuits will keep him close to home. After a mostly uncomplicated recruiting process, the all-state catcher signed a letter of intent Feb. 3 with Toccoa Falls College.

Eagles’ Anderson wants to make mark at Berry

RCHS wrestler Watts reaches 152-pound state title match

Rabun County High wrestler Miles Watts won his first three matches at the state traditional tournament Tuesday in Macon and advanced to the Class AA 152-pound final.  The sophomore was one of five Wildcats to reach state through Area 8 competition last Friday at Banks County.

’Cats paste Panthers for sixth win

The Rabun County High boys dribblers reached the Region 8-AA tournament on a convincing note, hammering visiting rival Union County, 59-34 Monday night.  Many saw action at Ken Byrd Court as the ’Cats closed the regular season with their sixth win overall and third in 8-AA.
