Rabun County High wrestler Miles Watts admitted nerves when he saw the brackets last week at the Georgia High School Association state traditional meet in Macon.  Four wins later, he earned the title of state champion.  Following a first-round bye, the sophomore won three matches Feb.

If somebody hadn’t been keeping count, Roger Cox may not have known he reached a milestone recently. That the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee boys basketball head coach achieved his 300th win Feb. 2 was news to him after the Eagles defeated the Asheville School.

The Tallulah Falls School varsity boys soccer team scored a flurry of goals in the Feb. 2 season opener at Class 3A Stephens County, winning, 6-2. The Indians bagged five first-half goals, and led, 5-0 at intermission.

’Cats split soccer openers with Stephens

The Rabun County High soccer openers Feb. 9 with visiting Stephens finished with identical finals, the boys prevailing and the girls falling a goal shy.  Scheduled home matches last Friday against visiting Tallulah Falls and Tuesday, Feb. 16, against Towns County were cancelled.
