Tallulah Falls boys win twice, girls once in region action

The Tallulah Falls School boys cagers extended their win streak to eight with two Region 8-A Private decisions last week, and the girls bounced league foe George Walton for their ninth victory.  Staying in the region, the Indian boys and girls were slated for Tuesday, Jan.

Eagle boys reach 11-4 with two victories

A Martin Luther King Jr. Day triumph at Elbert County lifted the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee boys to 11-4 with two weekend games on the docket.  The Eagles had a scheduled Wednesday, Jan. 20, home contest with Christ School.

Losses to Elbert, Banks put RCHS boys 0-2 in region

The Rabun County High boys dribblers opened the Region 8-AA schedule with losses to Elbert County and Banks County, the latter result Tuesday night in Tiger.  The Wildcats hunt their first league victory Friday night at Union County before coming home Saturday to challenge non-region foe Jefferson.

Lopez leads Lady Eagles to victory

Claudia Lopez’s big day from the perimeter highlighted the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee girls’ victory last Thursday in South Carolina.  Also last week, the Lady Eagles lost at Union County and Wesleyan Christian, then fell Monday at state-ranked Elbert County.

Rabun Gap wrestlers pin Towns, Walhalla

Kyle Ormsby, Fisher Bejnerowicz, Alex Mescher, Cash Unruh and Julian Muholland won three bouts each last week as the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee wrestlers took two of three matches.  The Eagles, under head coach Thomas Fon, defeated Towns County (54-24) and Walhalla (54-30) Jan.

Among the nation’s most prized college prospects, Rabun County High quarterback Gunner Stockton announced Tuesday afternoon on Twitter he has decommitted from the University of South Carolina.

Ladycats dealt first setback, boys tumble to Towns

A battle between the top-ranked girls teams in Class AA and Class AAAA went down to the wire Tuesday night in Jefferson, which handed Rabun County its first loss.  Starting Friday, the boys and girls ’Cats will play three Region 8-AA games in five days.

Wildcat, Eagle dribblers split twinbill at RCHS

A first-half surge propelled the Rabun County High girls, and a balanced attack carried the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee boys to victories last Thursday at RCHS. RCHS girls 57, RGNS 29 Ten hit the scoresheet as the Ladycats used a 20-0 run between the first and second quarters to open some early distance.

Tallulah cagers sweep Prince Avenue Christian

The Tallulah Falls School girls hoopsters won their Region 8-A Private opener and the boys rose to 2-0 in league play last Saturday by defeating visiting Prince Avenue Christian. The 10th-ranked Lady Indians (8-3 overall) spotted Prince Avenue the first eight points before rebounding.
