Wildcats’ playoff road begins with Haralson

The Georgia High School Association’s 32-team Class AA football playoff bracket has been released, and Rabun County will be tested from the opening bell.  A first-time opponent, Haralson County (7-2), will be the second-ranked Wildcats’ opening hurdle Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Wildcat 9-U gridders win Super Bowl thriller

In a three-overtime cliffhanger, the Rabun County 9-U Wildcats defeated Elbert County 32-26 last Saturday to win the North Georgia Youth Football Association Super Bowl at East Jackson High. “Both teams deserved to win that one,” Rabun head coach Yance Thompson said.

Rabun Gap boys dribblers beat TFS, split first two games

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee boys dribblers rebounded from an opening loss in South Carolina to beat Tallulah Falls in their home opener last Saturday. Nate Brafford, a 6-foot-8 junior newcomer, made quite the impression in his first two games with the Eagles, scoring 50 points total over the two games.

Tallulah girls edge RGNS, thump Pinecrest

Following a comfortable win in their season opener last Friday, the Tallulah Falls girls hoopsters left Rabun Gap-Nacoochee the next day with a narrow win.  This week, the Lady Indians were scheduled to play Monday and Tuesday in a tournament at Trinity Christian in Sharpsburg.
