Tallulah volleyball wins three of four

The Tallulah Falls volleyball squad stretched its win streak to six before it was snapped in the second match of a road playday last Thursday at Loganville Christian.  The Lady Indians made short work of Loganville Christian, taking the first set, 25-19 and the second, 25-16.

Starks No. 2 Jefferson next up Friday

After defending their turf against a five-star prospect and a highly ranked opponent, the Rabun County High football Wildcats have a similar challenge ahead of them Friday. Jefferson is ranked No. 2 in Class 4A, and brings a triple-option-based offense to Frank Snyder Memorial Stadium for a 7:30 p.

Wright first, RCHS girls fourth at Union

Molly Jo Wright won individual honors and the Rabun County High girls cross-country runners netted fourth Sept. 3 at a Union County meet.  Wright garnered 23:48 at the challenging Meeks Park course, and teammate Lucy Hood placed sixth at 25:10.

TFS, Rabun run at Cookies 'n Quotes festival

The Rabun County High runners placed second and sixth and host Tallulah Falls third and fourth Sept. 8 at the Cookies ’n Quotes Cross-Country Festival. At the Farm Course, the Wildcat girls, with a 76 score, were second only to Prince Avenue Christian (51) in an eight-team race.

RCHS splits softball twinbill in Gainesville

The Rabun County High softball team hit a recent rough patch with losses to Elbert County, Dawson County and Stephens County, though it scored a lopsided road win over the weekend.  In a doubleheader last Saturday at Gainesville, RCHS coasted, 21-0.

Tallulah Falls School senior golfer Maggie Jackson has made her verbal commitment to Wofford after a stellar summer of tournament play. A top-10 ranked golfer in the state of Georgia, Jackson climbed her way up the rankings in the spring and summer of 2020.

Woerner makes San Francisco roster

The San Francisco 49ers will have a touch of Rabun County as former Wildcat and University of Georgia standout Charlie Woerner has made the team’s 53-man roster. The defending NFC champions drafted the tight end in the sixth round — 190th overall — last spring.

Schedule set for Rabun Gap football

The Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School football Eagles have announced a seven-game schedule kicking off Friday, Sept. 25.  The opener will be 7:30 p.m. at Christ School in Arden, N.C., just outside Asheville. An Oct. 2 trip to Metrolina in Indian Trail, N.C.
