Rabun Gap boys soccer squad wins three

Outscoring the opposition a combined 11-1, the Rabun Gap-Nacoochee boys soccer Eagles added three recent victories to an impressive ledger.  In a battle of state finalists from last season, the Eagles edged Wesleyan Christian, 2-1 last Friday in High Point, N.C.

Tallulah spikers trip RGNS

Katy Corbett recorded 19 digs and 15 kills, and Allie Dalton 29 assists and 14 digs as the Tallulah Falls volleyballers defeated visiting Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, 25-14, 25-12, 25-20 on Oct. 6.

Autumn Breeze 5K brings out runners

More than 100 runners covered Tallulah Gorge State Park Sunday afternoon in the 18th annual Autumn Breeze 5K. The event was a fundraiser for the Rabun County Middle School and Rabun County High School cross-country programs.

Wright, Zafra post best RCHS times

Molly Jo Wright and Andrew Zafra posted the fastest times for the Rabun County High cross-country teams last week at the Runners Fit Mountain Invitational. The girls, behind Wright’s 19th-place 22:04, placed eighth as a team last Thursday at Unicoi State Park in Helen.

RCMS stays unbeaten, quiets Madison

Behind two touchdowns from Noah English and scores from Hayes Gunn and Reid Giles, the Rabun Middle football team stayed unbeaten last Thursday by stopping Madison County, 27-8.

Two matches, two wins for Tallulah volleyball

A Sept. 29 tri-match at Prince Avenue Christian became two more victories for the Tallulah Falls spikers, their 14th and 15th overall. The host school and Oglethorpe County both yielded in two-set results.

Banks edges Lady Wildcats at area volley tournament

The state tournament eluded the Rabun County High spikers following a narrow opening-round defeat to Banks County in the Area 8 tournament Tuesday at Union County.  In a best-of-three tussle, Banks escaped, 16-14 in the deciding set.

Lady 'Cats defeat Towns, Union, East Hall on softball diamond

The Rabun County High softball team added three wins before the Region 8-AA tournament, besting Towns County and East Hall in non-region play and splitting a doubleheader with region rival Union County. The double-elimination tournament was slated to begin Tuesday at Union County.
