Blazer damaged extensively by fire

A 2019 Chevrolet Blazer was damaged extensively after catching fire on Friday, Feb. 23. Rabun County Fire Services was dispatched to a vehicle fire at 108 West Savannah Street, Clayton, and personnel had the fire under control within three minutes of arrival. The vehicle was unoccupied.

Hundreds attended the drop-in 2024 Readers’ Choice celebration hosted by The Clayton Tribune in the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia Community Room on Feb. 22. The winners from the readers’ voting in the 98 categories were presented with their awards and spent time talking with others.

Sale seeks to be ‘bridge over troubled waters’

Hugs and sighs of relief filled the newly opened Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) business office Monday morning as officials from the City of Clayton and the county’s water and sewer department finalized a $3 million closing to conclude decades of debates.

Early voting for March 12 election happening now

Early voting for the Presidential Preference Primary is in full swing at the Rabun County Elections Office as poll workers continue checking in voters since Monday, Feb. 19. As of 5 p.m.

Chick-fil-A in Clayton – renown for being closed on Sundays – will soon be closed the other days of the week as the business plans to temporarily cease operations later this year for renovations at the existing facility.

Rabun County EMS now equipped with new $300,000 ambulance

Rabun County Emergency Services is now equipped with a new ambulance that’s set to be fully in service within the next week. The Frazer Dodge 4500 4x4 is equipped with a Stryker Power Load System and will replace an older model ambulance, according to Mike Carnes, EMS/911 director.
